Our Spring Appeal was sent out in March to all of our donors, and the results have been really great. We hope those of you who have not had an opportunity to give will please consider it. There is no time limit.

The Foundation has been very busy for the months of March and April.

• The Angiography Suite Acquisition Campaign is ending the fiscal year 2008/2009, with two special events; the Bank of Alameda Corporate Reception, May 19, 2009; and the Third Annual Faith-based Campaign Luncheon on May 21, 2009.

Frank Somerville Hosts Gala 2009

SomervilleFrankPopular KTVU Channel 2 news anchor Frank Somerville will host the Alameda County Health Care Foundation’s 19th Annual Gala on Saturday, June 6, from 6 to 11:30 p.m. at the elegant Rotunda Building in downtown Oakland. The evening will include live entertainment by popular Bay Area vocal trio Pure Ecstasy.

The black tie event will include a silent auction, gourmet dinner, special awards program, and dancing. Tickets cost $350 per person; valet parking is provided.

Board Member Spotlight: Dr. Kimberly Kim

Kim

Dr. Kimberly Kim is Associate Professor in the Department of Nursing and Health Sciences at California State University, East Bay. She teaches Fundamentals of Nursing and Preceptorship seminar courses. Her added roles include Assistant Director, Clinical Placement Coordinator, and Level III Coordinator in the department. She serves on various committees, such as University Institutional Review Board, College of Science Scholarship Committee, and Department Faculty Affairs, Simulation Technology, Graduate, CAPR, Curriculum, and Executive Committee.

Board Member Spotlight: Anthony Thompson

ThompsonAnthony Thompson is vice president of Bank of Alameda and has worked in the East Bay since 2001. Bank of Alameda is the largest independent community bank headquartered in Alameda County.

Prior to Bank of Alameda, Anthony managed the business affairs for a member of the Ford family in Palm Beach, Florida, and Grosse Pointe, Michigan. He lived in London, United Kingdom, for five years where he was head of marketing and public affairs for a British management consulting firm, Management Consulting Group PLC.
